China's Foreign Minister Xi Jinping Meets with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington D.C.
On October 26, 2023 local time, a standing committee member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee met with former US Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a meeting. Wang Yi stated that this invitation to visit the United States was a reciprocal visit in response to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's visit to China in June. He noted that there are differences and contradictions between China and the United States, but at the same time, both nations also share significant common interests.

Prior to their meeting, they held a brief press conference together. Wang emphasized that this visit was a return invitation for Secretary of State Blinken's visit to China in June. As two large nations, the United States and China may have differences and contradictions; however, there are also important common interests and issues that need to be jointly addressed. Therefore, both countries should work together to push bilateral relations back onto a normal track and restore a healthy, stable, and sustainable development path.
