Chinese employees have taken to social media to express their frustration and exhaustion about working for six days in a row, just before the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday. The holiday, which runs from February 10 to 17, will encompass a total of eight days, but with the addition of two weekend days, some employees will be subjected to a six-day work week.

Yi, a Weibo user, expressed their disappointment in the situation: "一想到要上6天班,我就灰心丧气,唉声叹气,有气无力的不想上班。" Another user, Six, vented their frustration: "六天班算什么。。。我还上过十几天二十天班巨痛苦。毕业后把什么当狗的都尝了一遍。"

Some employers have attempted to offer incentives to their workers during this time, such as a Weibo user who posted: "六天内刷到请不要无视,你会特别好的!"

The issue has also been reported by various media outlets, including the "橙柿互动" news website, which reported on the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday schedule stating that, "2024年春节放假安排自2月10日至17日共调休8天...2月4日(星期日)和2月18日(星期日)都要上班。"

Some users have also highlighted the importance of staying organized and planning ahead, with a user named "WUHANXIAOFANG" offering tips about office fire safety, including: "下班后,应将电风扇、空调等电源插头拔掉或关闭电源开关;碎纸机、封口机等办公使用的体积较小的电器,散热性差,不使用时应及时拔掉电源。"

While some employers are adhering to the six-day work week schedule, others are taking steps to alleviate the burden on their employees, such as a Weibo user who reported that their company had already begun its holiday break, with employees having already purchased tickets for travel back home over the weekend.

Despite these efforts, many Weibo users remain dissatisfied with the situation and continue to express their exhaustion and frustration on the platform. One user named "吉大各单位结合述基年休假等个认需实" wrote, "安排职工在除夕(2月9日)休养。"

Overall, the upcoming six-day work week has left Chinese employees feeling overwhelmed and tired, as they prepare for the celebration of the Lunar New Year.
