China Announces Shortlist for Prestigious Youth Award

Among the shortlisted individuals are notable figures such as Wang Xingxing, founder of Utrust Technologies, and Chen Lijun, an actress from the Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Troupe. Additionally, astronauts Zhu Yangzhu and Gui Haitao, as well as CCTV journalist Zou Yun, are also among the nominees. Other exceptional young individuals, including Liu Qing, a senior technician at China Railway No. 9 Engineering Co., Ltd., and Chen Kunyuan, founder of Jiangxi Soldier Brother Food Group, are also recognized for their achievements. These individuals have demonstrated remarkable contributions and dedication to their respective fields, making them exemplary models for Chinese youth.

The selection process for the 2025 China Youth May 4th Medal was jointly undertaken by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the All-China Youth Federation. Through a rigorous evaluation process involving anonymous voting by the review committee and collective deliberation by the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, 103 individual candidates and 40 collective candidates who met the qualification criteria were selected. The shortlisted names will be made public from April 7th to April 11th, during which time individuals with objections to the list can provide feedback in their real names until 5:00 PM on April 11th.

The public can review the shortlist and provide feedback until April 11, 2025. The final award winners will be announced after the feedback period.
